It has been my habit to keep a journal of my fishing activities since I started fly-fishing. This journal has two purposes. Since I typically fish the same water, the journal just reminds me of what the conditions were and what was working. The second, and perhaps the most important, is that in the middle of the winter I can re-live the fishing day in my mind with some degree of honesty.
